We open the evening with a reminder of what we’re here for and who we’re here for. This ~2.5 minute opener introduces the visual metaphor of a tapestry. Each subsequent film throughout the night will carry elements of this imagery, allowing the entire event to feel cohesive and connected - each element working together to tell the interwoven story that God has crafted through Connie Maxwell.
We continue to cut back to the voices and faces as they ponder these big ideas: God is uniquely weaving generations of transformed lives together.
The film concludes where it began, only now - the quilt is complete. The story has become more beautiful as a whole than the sum of its parts.

How do you encompass, distill, and gather all that God has done through the Decades of Dreams campaign in a single film?
You can’t!
What we can do is trace the threads of God’s work in the last decade (and more broadly the last 100 years) and how it has led to this moment by telling several small stories that build to the larger whole.
In Decade of Dreams, we revisit our documentary subjects, talk to current and past kids at Connie, and speak with staff, volunteers, and donors. As we share these stories, we return to the visuals of threads to show the larger picture of how God has woven all of these people and all of these stories together to do something completely new at Connie Maxwell.
By the end of the film, all the strings lead us to the groundbreaking at the actual site of the new facility, possibly even transitioning into the future with 3D models of the building composited into aerial and gimbal shots we film on campus. We hear from architects and mental health professionals to introduce the new Healing Center facility plans and the therapy-trained environment for children.
We’ll also broaden the scope to showcase how every element of change across Connie Maxwell’s campus contributes to a simple and singular purpose - to enable a child to dream more for what God has for their life.
The film will build to a call-to-action, highlighting that it is imperative to be a part of this vision and by doing so, donors themselves are becoming a part of the larger story God is weaving together - a thread in his tapestry.

We watch as a baby boy is put up for adoption. He’s welcomed into a new home and a new life. It’s an ideal childhood wrapped in the warm embrace of parents who love him.
We watch this baby become a boy. This boy is the audience’s guide into the story, yet we never hear his name - we simply see life from his perspective. As a boy he plays with marbles, which become a visual metaphor for the crashing, breaking, and deflecting complexities of the human experience.
We watch him grow and follow along through an experience we all have: his moment of calling. He catches a ‘Dream’ for what he wants to do with his life.
At this young age, his parents reveal to him that he was adopted. He seemingly thinks little of it.
This is a list of projects that we can collaborate on throughout the year, as Decades of Dreams progresses.
These are assets that we believe will be helpful for Connie’s website, social channels, as well as communicating back to those that have already supported the journey.
