In the summer of 2020, we explored how to safely pull together a crew in the midst of a pandemic to make something special. Resurrecting an old song from Wild Sweet Orange, we wrote a short film to accompany one of our favorite songs.
This project began with a song and a desire to create.
We wanted to add more than a typical music video would have added and develop a narrative world around the song. It was an exercise in expanding meaning and using filmmaking to connect with a familiar audience in a new way.
Working with Virginia Newcomb and Preston Lovinggood, bringing the story to life in the middle of a difficult season reminded us why we love making films in the first place.

A church. A community of people committed to helping children discover their future. Our challenge was finding a way to communicate the full spirit of French Camp in a single story.
